Silver prices dropped over the Belgrade week-end to the extent of 1.1/86. Į Berlin ..... for both deliveries, the quotations; Bombaje being 35 1/& for Ready and 35 1/4 Brunssia \.... for Forward. Silver advices report-Bucharest ed speculators as having operated Buenos Aires both ways. The drop was attribut ed to general profit taking. In America the rate was lower at 78 3/4 for Spot.

The New York-London cross-rate was quoted at 4.83 1/8 and Lendon- New York at 4,82.

Market. Market: Erratic.

Sterling

There were sellers after the open- ing at 2/5 3/8, buyers bidding 275 1/2 for near delivery leading to business at 2/5 7/16 for July, de- livery. The market then weakened and business was done at 2/5 1/4 for near. 2/5 and 2/4 7/8 for near delivery. At this stage the market reacted and the selling rate gradu- ally rose to 2/5 1/4 at which rate business was done for June, July. 2/5 3/8 was also arranged for June delivery and 2/5 5/18 July. T wards 1 p.m. offers at 3/5 1/4 were accepted for near and forward and 2/5 3/16 was also done for near delivery. The market closed at lunch time with sellers at 2/5 1/8 April-May and 2/5 3/16 June-July, buyers at 1/18 higher respectively. D. S. Dollars

Opened with sellers at SA 7/8; buyers bidding 59. Subsequently the market weakened and business was done at 58.7/16, 58 6/18 and 58

r various deliveries. The market then steadied up and business was done at 58 7/8 for near and 59 1/18 for July delivery. The market closed at 1 p.m. with sellers at 38 3/4 April-May. 58 13/18 June and probably 58 7/8 July, buyers at 1/8 higher respectively.

Opened with sellere at 1/8 1/4 for near, rising subsequently to 1/8 5/10 for near delivery. Steady. U.S. Dollars opened with sellers at 40 3/4 and then rose to 40 7/8 for near delivery.

Towards the close business was reported at 2/5 1/2 for near delivery, finishing with sellers at 2/5 1/2 April/May. 2/6 9/16 June and 2/5 5/8 July, buyers at 2/5 5/8 April/May. 2/5 11/16 June and 2/5 3/4 July.

U. S. Dollarg. Business was reported in the afternpon at 59 3/8 for July de- livery. The market closed with sel- lers at 59 3/8 April/May. 59 7/16 June and 59 1/2 July, buyers at 1/8 higher respectively,
