REMOVING A GIANT TÉLESCOPE
From Oxford To London
(Special Aur Mall 'Service)
London, April 8. One of the largest astronomical removals of recent years began at Oxford this week with the dis- mantling of the 24-inch refracting telescope of the Rad-cliffe Obser- vatory, for its journey to the Im- perial Institute, London.
Movable parts of the telescope alone weigh seven and a half tons, and, in addition, there is the mov- able floor of the obsevatory and the revolyng' dome. It is expected that the whole will be packed and dispatched in three weeks.
Built in 1901 by Sir Howard Grubb, at Dublin, the telescope was installed in the buildings pre- pared for it by Mr. T. G. Jackson the following year. In Oxford it has been used for estimating the London University has acquired it proper "motions of the stars, and

London, April 8. Britain's foreign policy is now clear.
The Government is prepared to move in either of two directions.
What those directions are was stated by Sir John Simon in the House of Commons debate on the European situation..
