Coroner's Inquiry Enda
The Coroner's enquiry into the the circumstances surrounding death of Chan Kui, à woman, 76 years of age, who was one of the victims of the fire which occurred in Belcher's Street on February 25 last. was concluded, at Central Magistracy yesterday.
Mr. W. Schofield, sitting BS Coroner, was assisted by a jury Hilller comprising Messrs. W. S (foreman), A. F. Paul and F. X. Remedios.
At the outset of yesterday's hearing, Sergeant Kinnear gave evidence regarding his arrival at the scene. He said, that when he reached Belcher's Street, he was cold that an old woman was lying. desd Beach Street. Finding that the woman was dead, witness sent for a dead box and had the body removed to No. 7 Police Station and later to the Public Mortuary. Later in the morning, witness was present at the Mortu- ary when deceased was identified by her daughter and a tenant of the house she was living in."
