ADMIRALS AND COURTSMARTIAL

The circumstance that a flag officer is to be tried by Court- martial appears to be regarded as very unusual, but without going back as far as the trial of Ad- mira! Byng and other Courts- martial of that description in the old wars, there have been at least five cases of the kind during the last 65 years. Two cases occurred during the late War Three occurred in peace time. In July.
