NAMING OF THE DEPTFORD

The new sloop Deptford will be floated out of the dock at Chatham, where she has been bullt, to-day. The customary naming ceremony will be perform- ed by the Mayoress of Deptfort The association with the Borough of Deptford is to be give per- manent form by the presentation to the ship of a shield to be won by the member of the crew who' brings the greatest credit to the vessel in the various forms of athletic sport.

An agreement between the Ham- burg-Amerika and North German. the Lloyd Lines, sanctioned by boards of directors of the two companies, regulates relations between the companies for the next Afteen years.

Each company will henceforth have its own management, but they will have a joint board of directors.
