The Annual Race Meeting was brought to a successful con- -clusion on Saturday when, apart from the large attendance and the glorious weather, twa mara records were shattered in suc- «cessive races."

Mr. Fatshan's Able Amazon again proved herself to be the best Australian pony by winning the Australian Champions" in the record time of 213.3" beating the previous "best" mark, also set up by her, by 4/5 of a second. Another record was set up in the Happy Valley Spring Handicap "A" Division by Ribble who clocked 212.2, clipping 1/5 of a second off King's Justice's 1933 record.

The dividend for the Daily Double was $182.901.

Griffins' Spring Handicap Nine starters were in this race which was won by High Honour Estover and Flybynight took the lead from the start but when Division of Black Rock was reached they were passed by Flirt, Solder of Peace and High Honour. In the stretch nome, Flirt led-but about 120 yards from home she was passed by High Honour, Ythan and Soldier of Peace. The last named three in- dulged in an exciting finish which resulted in High Honour being a short head in front of Ythan with Soldier of Peace a head behind.
