With the Annual Race Meeting only three days off, it is not yet certain who with ride the Derby favourite, Herod.The.cri- ginal report that Mr. Fote Hunt will be coming down for the "Sassoon" stable has proved to be incorrect. There was rome talk last week that Mr. V. V. Needs would be invited to ride Herod, but the latest gossip is that if the "Star" siable is not starting in the Derby, Mr. D. S. Li, will be offered the mount, Herod has a very fine chance of winning the race, and it wi be interesting to see under which jockey he will go to the post.
