Arsenal's Advance Stopped

CHARLTON FORGES AHEAD

The Arsenal went down at Birmingham, and Manchester City, Sunderland, Stoke and Everton won their matches in the First Division. In the Second Bolton were held to a draw, and West Ham and Brentford won. Reading in the Southern Section of the Third Division displaced Watford by beating them while Charl- ton are still at the head of the tables. In the Northern Division Tranmere came away with both points from Halifax to remain in 20 the lead with Chester and Doncaster following close.
