THE JUBILEE
Suggestion To Name Thoroughfares
(Special Air Mail. Service)
London, Jan. 18. There is a feeling among some people of Innence that the plans for celebrating the King's jubilee should include the naming or re- naming of an important street after King George. It is curious that Paris has already Edouard Sapt and Georges Cinq Place, while no public place of note is named after either monarch in his. capital (King Edward Street in the City is named after Edward VI.).

tant ones of a processional nature with names to which little seati- ment attaches. Park Lane, for example, might well change its name now that it has changed its whole appearance and character. George the Fifth Avenue" would be a change that would be generally welcomed Grosvenor Place, which ins from Hyde Park Corner along the wall of Buckingham Palace, has little to commend it-the dia- trict is crowded with Grosvenor namies,--and if the Queer consented Queen Mary Drive would be most appropriate. Further, as it leads to Victoria Street the names of the three Sovereigns would thus be linked together for time to come on the face of London. This sub- Ject will be much discussed in the coming months.
