Result Of Local Tournament

The result of the Duplicate. Bridge olympic' held at the Sports Club on Friday ware:-

North and South-Winners Messrs. P. S. and M. H. Lal, 3,990 points runners-up. Mr. Justice Lindsell and Mr. J. W. Franks 3,390 points; runners-up, MI, A. E. Gerondal and Mr. M. E. Politi 2,670 paints.

East and West winners: Mrs. Younghusband, and Mr. Delcourt 6.740 points; runners-up Mr. R. Danenberg and Mr. F. A. Gill 5,930 points, runners-up Mr. M. H, LO and Mr. H. Lo 4,970 points.

The above were the prize winners for the highest scores on the six- teen hands played.

The actual winners of the world bridge olymple of Hong Kong which will be on the "par" bit and which will be decided by the central organisation in New York will be known in a few weeks and the results will be published in the. local press in due course.

It is estimated that about 200,000, people played these identical 16 hands-all over the world at 8 p.m. on Friday,

Club Certain Champions Of

Senior League

All the grounds in the Colony were on the slow side, caused by the continuous drizzle during Saturday afternoon. Most of the League matches scheduled to be played were decided.

The tit-bit of the afternoon was the match between the Hong Kong Cricket Club and the Cralgengower, which result ed in the triumph for the former team, thus making quite per- fain of the club's chance of being champions of the League this season. The Happy Valley team, previous to this defeat". by the Club had 'not met with any reverse this season, the two league games which they have played were both drawn.

In spite of the hitting out by A. P. Pereira, which realised 24 not out, when he went in to bat last, the King's Park eleven lost to the University by 8 wickets at home.

In the Junior Division League, the Indian Recreation Club was once again checked, this time by the Royal Medical Corps. In not winning this game, they have considerably lessened their chances for the Junior honours-only a surprise reverse on the part of the R.A.S.C. who have so far drawn one league game and won all the others will put the Indians again in the run- ning The R.A.S.C. fared successfully when playing against the Navy at King's Park winning by 102 raus, which has made them potential champions.

SENIOR LEAGUE

H.K. C.C. V. C.C.C. ::In A Senior Division League game played at the Valley in what was expected to be an exciting finish, the Hong Kong Cricket Club ran out easy victors over the Craigengower.

C. K. Hill Wood, former Eton and Oxford, 'fast bowler, turned for the Club in his match, and he met with considerable success, taking 3 wickets for 35 runs in
