NEW CO-OPERATIVE SHIPPING SOCIETY

State And Private Owned Companies Combine

Nanking. January 23. A set of measures introducing the co-operative principle in the mercantile shipping industry, sub- mitted by the Chinese Shipping Co-operative Planning Committee, has been approved by the Ministry of Communications.

According to these measures, a Shipping Co-operative Society is

to be created, with all Chinese shipping companies, both state and private owned, as members.

The ships and warehouses of the members are to be at the disposal of the Society, for

Members are eligible for a second term. They will receive no salary, but will be given travelling allowances.
