TO-DAY'S CONSECRATION. StThe consecration of Arch- deacon Mok, as Assistant Bishop of the Diocese, in Hong Kong Cathedral this evening is a mat- ter of great significance for the Christian Church in South Ching.

It is thirteen hundred years since the first Christian missionary came to China (The Nestorian Bishop, Alopen, from Bagdad). The same year the Irish misston- artes reached the shores of North- ern England. The Christian Church of both countries has gone through many vicissitudes in the last thir- teen hundred years.

Reminded of his evidence given the previous day, that Kwan Yu consented in the tea house to help, xitness said his evidence was true.

Grandfather's Quarrel Asked what he intended to do to Ma Tau-nam, witness said he wished

the grudge to redress which his grandfather bore Ma Tau-nam for being swindled by

There may have been for years some levance in the mind of accused and it might have been aggravated by drink that night but even if there was a grievance, that is no excuse for the accused bebag as they did.
