Arsenal Picking Up

The Arsenal are by no means out of the running for First League honours, They took full marks away from Liverpool, and are now only one point behind Sunderland with the advantage of two games in hand. Sunderland managed to only share the spoils with the Wolves.

In the promotion race the chances are fairly open and no team has really, any material advantage over the others. Bol- ton's loss and Brentford's win have placed them on level pegging, with Manchester, West Ham, Blackpool and Notts Forest in close attendance.

The gap between Charlton and Coventry was lessened by the former's defeat and the latter win; Reading, Watford and Luton are close on the leaders' heels.

Although he has ng au- thority to do so, the Lithuanian Governor himself opened the aes- 'sion in an overflied hall where the consul-generals of the Soviet Union and Latvia as well as the representative of the German Con- sul General, were present among the public.
