BRITISH LOCOMOTIVES

FOR CHINA

The Chinese Purchasing Com- mission has placed an order in Lancashire for 16 steam locom- otives and tenders for the Canton and Hankow Railway of China.

The locomotives, which are of a new design, will be among the heaviest non-articulated locomo- tives in the Far East, They will have exceptionally large will necessitate bollers, which special mechanical stokers.

Note. The builders of these locomotives are the Vulcan "Foundry, Newton-le-Willows, Lan-

cashire.
