A very urgent need for more funds to cope with the work that confronts the Society. Is indicated by the speeches of HLE the Governor, Sir William Peel, the Hon. Dr. R. H. Kotewall, and Mr. .M. K. Lo.

The opportunity was taken to thank not only those, who by their generosity had made relief work possible among the poor, but also those who had helped by their work and co-operation to render the Society's work effective.
