What Is Being Done In Kai Tak

It

Few people in Hong Kong can have any real idea of the pro- gress which has been made in Civil Aviation in the Colony. may come as a surprise to many to learn that in Kai Tak, stu- dents from all parts of China are learning, both in the engineer- ing shop and in the lecture room of the Far Eas; Flying Training School, the practical side of aviation:

Frass representatives were shown over the flying ground and training school on Monday last and came away with the distinct impression that the Colony is well served by the Training School In Eat Tack.

A new hangar is in course of constraction at Kai Tak, while the slipway for seaplanes is being completed. In other respects too, work is in progress to make Kai Tak as up-to-date an aero- drome, for clyfi and military aviation as possible.

Below is an account of the visit to the Firing School by our representative.

SENTENCE REDUCED

In the case of Vasily Gregory who was sentenced to four months" hard labour on November, 29. for having returned from banishment. à successful application was made by Mr. T. P. K. Kemble before Mr. Schoßeld at the Central Magis- tracy yesterday for a review of the sentence.

Mr. Kemble remarked that, de- fendant was arrested on board a steamer with a through ticket for Shanghai and if he had applied for a permit to pass through, he | might have received permission. In view of these facts Mr. Kemble said that the offence was really a technicality.

Mr. Schofield agreed that the offence was light but disagreed it was a technicality. The sentence however reduced to two months' hard labour.

ed out of the stand so sharply that the other had to swerve close to the water's edge.

The car then started again`and defendant did the same thing:

Mr. Schofield remarked that it seemed to him a case of deliberate dangerous, driving.

The original letter is held at Arcadia' Works and its authenticity cần be verified.
