HOME FOOTBALL RESULTS

Arsenal's Bad Luck

The Arsenal were decidedly, unlucky at Chelsea where they were leading by 5-2 when the game had to be abandoned after 80 minutes' play owing to dense tog, more especially when both Sun- derland and 'Stokes, the leaders, went down to West Bromwich and Grimsby respectively.

The leadership in the Second Division is also unchanged, both Bolton and Brentford winning their games.

In the two sections of Third Division there was only one match (Luton beating Milwall), as most clubs were engaged in the first round of the Football Association Cup.

Charlton, the leaders of the Southern Section of the Third were held to a draw by Exeter; Reading (by beating Cardiff), and Coventry entered the next round of the Cap.

Of the Northern section. Third leaders Tranmere have gone through but both Halifax and Stockport were held by Hartle pool and Blyth, in the Cup.

The Scottish League table shows no change over the week-end. The Rangers won from Queen's Park, but Hamilton were forced to a draw.
