One time Governor of former German East Africa, General von Liebert, one of the few surviving veterans of the Austro-Prussian War of 1866, died in his Upper Silesian estate, aged 85. Liebert who also took part in the World' war as divisional commander of the western front, played a pro- minent part in Germany's public life before the War especially as one of the leaders of the former Colonial Society, the former Ger- man Naval League as well as be- ing the founder of the "Reich League for combatting social- democracy."
