MAX BAER
Protest In Berlin
(Special Air Mail Service)
London, Sept. 20. In view of Germany's lack of foreign exchange, an offer to Max Baer. the heavy-weight boxing champion of the world, of a guaranteed 230,000 for a title fight at Hamburg with Max Schmeling, the Germany champ on, is criticised, to night,
It is suggested that such a large sum could be better employed than in filling the pockets of an American boxer: Owing to Max Baer's Jewish parentage it is un- likely that the night would in any case be allowed to take place.
