TO-MORROW'S RACING
PROSPECTS
FAIR VIEW SHOULD WIN THE BIG
EVENT
Some Selections For Punters
(BY "MORNING DEW ")
The autumn racing, seäsàn commences to-morrow at Macao with a programme of six events and from all accounts & appears that the meeting, will attract a strong contingent of recegoers from Hong Kong. The ss. Taishan leaves Hong-Kong at 9:30 a.m. and returns from Macao at 6 pm. This should give intending visitors to Macao a' whole hour before the racing stands and an- other hour after the last "race.
A good number of local jockeys are making the trip, and of the ponies entered, practically af are being sent across. As this is the first meeting after a respite of three months, there should "be some attractive dividends going so morrow. There is no. -novice race in the programme, but there is a race for * Licensed Riders in racing colours" and a six furlongs sprint for the ladies. The prospects of the various candidates are discussed below together with a few selections for the day.
African Eve For First Race
The programme opens with a race for "Regular Troop Ponies". belonging to the HK.V.D.C. There are six entries, and I think African Eve will not have much difficulty in winning, the more so as the distance is only six furlongs. He is quick on the mark and is a good sprinter and I confidently expect him to win. The Curlew and Pat might all the other places, but I am. not at all certain about them as Mouche and Jack O'Lantern are. also quite good. There should be a good tussle for places.
TAP SIAC HANDICAP The Macao record for six fur- longs is 1.32.2, and it should not be difficult for the contestants in the Tap Si Handicap, the second race on the card, to come very near this time. The event is for griffins of this season that have not won môre than $750-in stakes. Of the and six entries, Banquet Hall Racing Triumph are also entered for a later event and it is not certain where they will start.
In my opinion the handicapper has very rightly given top weight (161) to Fair View, as the pony has won exactly $750 and has hitherto ac- counted for some very good griffins. He won a mile race. at the Annual

Racing Triumph has 151 pounds but that should not stop him from putting up a strong claim. Vago is a good one to follow here as is Festival Eve.
THE SUBS' BACE
The race for unsuccessful subs of the Hong Kong Jockey Club ought to provide a good tussle. Delight=' ful Chance is in good trim and in six furlongs sprint, hould not be very far behind. Sarabande has been placed on so many occasions. that although his chances for a xin seems exceptionally bright, I have a lurking suspicion that he will again be beaten. Antamok and Little Beauty are good "long
which is för licensed shots. The latter, however, may. riders. Black Velvet gave a good not start here as he has a good race in the next, for ladies over six exhibition at Macao some tour

THE LADIES RACE
In the ladies race, City of Shang-

Chow Fan, Gold Currency won a mile in The Carp and Dare Devil are bat will find plenty of opposition a race on March third and has also about equal in strength and any from Fi-Fa, both quite good sprin touched the limit of $750. I think Hey For will find the six furlongs very suitable to him in the Mong Ha Handicap (second

I am foformed that Boxing Eve is not going to Macao, in which case the rat section of the Mong Ha Handicap-should be quite open.
