The story of The Only Girl" which is coming to the Alhambra on Thursday, concerns ́a" Duke, who, while taking part in a Fox- hunt, catches sight of a garter lying on the ground, and picks it up in the hope of finding its own er. Later he is thrown from his horse, and is taken to an adjoin- ing barracks in a semi-conscious comdition, where he is smoothed by a haunting refrain sung by Ju- llette, mald to the Empress and owner of the garter, whom he mis- takes for another, .'
On his recovery he seeks the owner of the velce, and puraues the Empress in error. Scandal, however, is averted by Juliette, who wickedly deserts her most ardent admirer, the composer of the song, for the Duke, when he discovers that she is the object of his desire,

QUITE ANOTHER THING!
Comedian But Not Shark Bait
A shark sent Joe E. Brown and a score of swimmers scurrying for the shore during the taking of a scene for his latest First National ¡comedy, "You Saida, Mouthful,””” which will be shown at the Al- hambra Theatre to-morrow.
The main action of "the picture evolves around a marathon swim- ming race in which Joe is induced to enter through a series of com- cal errors, although he had never before swum Я stroke. These scenes were taken off Catalina Is land, where sharks `occasionally, put in an appearance.
Joe is supposedly attacked by s shark in the picture, but when the players saw a fin cut the water some hundred yards from shore, they knew it was o alm prop fish. There was a yell of "shark"" and everyone struck ous for shore:
Director, Lloyd Bacon offered 'a personal “guarantee that it was a sand shark. and would rot bite but no one would return to the water that day.............
"I want a: personal guarantee from the shark, not the director," declared Joe. "I'm supposed to be a comedian, not shark bait," he added:
A fine comedy cast supports the wide mouthed comedian.
