CHURCH

(Special to the “Hong Kong Dally Pres" (Copyright).]

Berlin, Aug. 18. The Reichsminister of Home Affairs has directed the following decree to all confederate Govern-

"Conflict ments;

within the Evangelican Church had assumed forms that made it necesary for a time to prevent any further church political discussion. This regula tion was from the very beginning not intended to be permanent but merely designed to show that also in this sphere, the Reich Govern- ment is indisposed to allow public calm and safety to be endangered. on the assumption that even now this does become clear, to all those concerned, I altered my decree of July 9, 1934 so that in future only irrelative political controversies concerning the Evangelical Church

shall be forbidden in the Press leanets, and circulars, and order all official bodies concerned to act | accordingly.“mani
