Germany's women athletes swept the board at the Women's World Games held at White City on Saturday when they re- fained the championship by an overwhelming margin.
Four world records were lowered of which Germany, sei iwo new marks, while the three British native records broken at the meeting were all triumphs for Germany. The women of Poland and Czechoslovakia were the others to set new world marks.

The Swimming contest between Chinese journalists of Hong Kong, | 100 Canton and Macao, which con- cluded yesterday evening at the Chung Sing Benevolent Society's Bathing Shed at West Point, proved a huge success.
Entries were numerous and the races were by no means dull al- though it must be said that Hong Kong's numerous, victories rather outshadowed the efforts of those from Canton and Macao.
Chan Chun Man of the "Wan Kiu Yat Po" was the outstanding swimmer annexing the majority of events, while he was placed second in several others.

H.G. Lange Causes Surprise In Men's 50 Yards
H. Lange, runner-up in last year's YMCA. Men's 100 Yards Championship and holder of the 220 title, on Saturday night wop the Men's 50 Yards Championship in a very close race in 28 seconds, the favourite R.. B. Wood being placed second while G. H. Fowler and R. Goldman were third and fourth.
Mes. A. C. Schreuder had an easy victory in the Ladies' 50 Yards Championship in the absence of Mrs. Mead, who has just joined the "Y" Ladies Swimming Section. A thruling duel for... second place in the Ladies race between Miss J. Weller and Miss A. Fowler provided the tit-bit "of the race. Mrs. Scheuder's time of 33 1/5 seconds was very poor.
