The Police senior team added another victory, their previous B. W. Bradbury

"This time they won at Kowloon Dock by five shots, a great deal of the credit going to Moss pink which showed a major- ity of eight shots with Mair doing good work ga No. 3. Kowloon C.C. seniors secured a narrow win over the Club' de Re- crelo. Although they were beaten on two rinks, Fraser's team rose to the occasion by defeating Sil- va's rink by 12 shots which gave a majority of two shots the total. It was the K.C.C.'s third victory after a sequence of four defeats.

units and their wives.

Mrs. Bead, nee Maudie George, who is one of the stalwarts of the "Y" Ladies Swimming Section is also in disposed and will probably not be seen in action for some time..

Of the whole programme, the 150 Yards Free Style was awum off on Thursday and resulted in win for Pte. Wright of the Medical Corps, while the Engineers took second place through Spr. Pega.

The Open Relay which was won by the Royal Artillery from the South Wales Borderers was snatch-pionship eventy ed by 藠 touch... The East Lancashires who came third lost

by a similar margin to the Bor- derers although much credit must go to the last three swimmers over the 25 yards, who put up magulacent performance and al most brought the roof down with the applause they evoked by the close finish" provided.

|

From the start of the race "1t. looked as if the Borderers would

carry the event but towards the middle the Gunners made a spirit ed attempt to draw level and only succeeded in the last length when they won through sheer determina tion.

Another exciting event was the Inter-Unit Relay which also resulted in a very close finish, the Royal Engineers winning in conse- quence of their last man overhaul ing the Medical Corps" swimmer who failed to stay the fast pace. Incidentally the heats which were swum off prior to the final must have had a telling effect on many of the swimmers whose unorthodox methods of swimming resulted in twice the usual amount of energy being spent.

The Diving, individually and by teains was excellent and the win ner. Cpl. Eycott of the Service Corps looks a likely coming Com- mand champion. His only rival is Pte. Morrision of the Borderers who is not as good as he was last

year,

Eycott performed his dives with the precision attained by valuable experience and his points awards were only a shade off the maximum In nearly every dive.

Staff Sergeant Routledge who is a veteran also performed credits- bly and his effort in taking second place is specially creditable.~.

The Royal Army Service Corps trio were much too good as a team and won by a comfortable margin from the Ordinance Corps.

At the conclusion of the pro- gramme, Mrs. Morris distributed the prizes and was given three hearty cheers...

Lt. Col. EW. Fordham, M.C., RE. was the Referee, while the | judges were Major · JH: Mousley, D.SO, T.D., R.E., Captain È.J. Walch, R.AB.C., Captain J.L. Hen- derson, R.C. of 8, and Sergeant Major A.W.J. Kirton-Vaughan, RAM.C

Mr. EF. Belk judged the diving,

while Lt. G.W.W. Morris, H.E. was the starter. The arrangements of the gala were in the hands of Lt. JR.C. Hamilton, R.E.

On presont form it is very hard to forecast the result although it is quite probable that Wood will win narrowly from G.H. Fowler, whose recent form leaves nothing to be desired.

In the Ladies Championship event there are at present no entries but it is hoped that both Mrs. Mead and Mra. Schreuder will enter by the *post entry method."

An added attraction will be the two races over 50 yards open to Boys and Girls of the Central British School.

The Men's and Ladies 40 Yards Aggregate Handicap races have again beats and some very close finishes are drawn large entries necessitating expected especially in the first heat of the men's event.

Another interesting event will be the 125 Yards Mixed Four Styles relay which will provide the divertisement.

A water polo game, six-a-side will bring the aquatic events to con- clusion, following which there will be dancing in the West Lounge to the strains of Mr. Stott's Band.
