The tennis league is good headway and every week we see a number of gùmés decided, The biggest surprise of the past. week was the defeat of the Indian, Recreation club at the hands of Club de Recreio and while the lat ter are to be congratulated on their win, it must be said that the Indians displayed extremely poor form. H. D. Rumjahn, playing with 1 M. A. Razack only managed o get half a set. The latter was very badly off form and although his partner played his usual steady game, the opposition proved much

The trouble with them, it seems, is that they do not always field the same teata: Some years ago, when they played the same six regularly, they were rather successful and if they want to be a power in the tennis world sgain, they cannot do better than revert to their old practice..

So far as the men's competitions are concerned, it seem fairly safe
