NEW YORK STOCK AND COMMODITY QUOTATIONS
AMERICAN ORIENTAL FINANCE CORPORATION AND S. E. LEVY & CO.
New York, July 12. • The American Oriental Finance Corporation report through their New York agents, Mesira, E. "A. Pierce & Co., states:—
Stocks-The character of the market remains unchanged essen- tially. The volume of business has declined on a moderate recession. with the main buying, interests confined to investment caliber. Business done: 470,000 shares.
Wheat:-The sentiment of the
market was almost unanimously bullish. Although realising and hedging sales caused a reaction receipts keep. large. Soft wheat was offered freely. The premium Inaintained in the Winnipeg mar- ket evidently reflected the Cana dlan Government crop report.
Cotton:The market acted well considering the extent of selling and the fact that the weather is unfavourable., Realising sales and a let up in specplative demand caused a set-back. However, Trade buying improved, on this set-back due to improved demand for goods. There was also some nar- rowing of the premtum on distant months, compared with near-bys.. Silver: The market was featureless, showing evidence that speculators are becoming some. what tired. "A fair volume of bust- ness was offered at from ten to twenty points above the market price.

Stocks:-We would mit any further buying to minor recessions. "Our opinion of the market remains unchanged and we believe it to be still a trading affair. Business done: 470,000 shares.
Bonds:-High-grade bonds are better, with the volume of busfriess smaller. Second-grade issues re- main unchanged.
Cotton:-Liquidation, local #all- ing and lower cables caused the market to ease. We continue to advise the taking of profits on any "sharp advancès, anticipating some-
what lower prices later.
Silver: The market ruled quiet but steady.
Rubber:-Comrilssion-House and
speculative selling caused stop- loss orders in a working market Prices may go lower and, we be- lleve that advantage should be taken of sharp recessions.
Wheat:-The market ruled hedge qulet. Profit-táking and sales are increasing on advances.
