the central electrode,
The two enemies of sparking plug efficiency-heat and oll- are combated by several features. The central electrode point is made of a special alloy which is not readily affected by great heat, and is set in a copper ́cen- tral électrode, so that heat 15 quickly conducted away from the point. The unusual" arrangement of the gap is stated to give the plug exceptional non-oiling pro- perties and to protect the inter- nai insulation from heat.
For general purposes two types of sparking plug are marketed, one for touring engines and an- other for sports engines. Both have basically the same features, The copper alloy central elec- trode is in each case wedge shap- ed, becoming wider at its base.
