Mr. H. Rusden, chief engineer of the ss. Changte passed away at the French Hospital, Cause- way Bay on Friday morning after a short, illness. ... ·

The deceased who was 70 years of age, was a native of Devon- shire, England and had been in the service of the Australian and Oriental Line for 16 years, having been previously employed on the Adelaide Line.

Besides the widow in Sydney, the deceased, leaves a grown-up and two married daughters, to whom the deepest sympathy is extended.

The funeral 'took place at the Frotestant Cemetery. Happy Val- ley, on Saturday, the Rev. G. T. Waldegrave conducting the burial service.
