With the stabilisation of the provincial notes, it is believed that foreign and Chinese business in Canton will be benefited. The Provincial Department of Finance deserves credit in bringing the notes to full value. Now the next step is to redeem the notes of the $10 denomination. At the same time, the Finance Department is planning to redeem in full value the notes of $5 and $50 issued by the defunct Central Bank of China during the administration of Mr. T. V. Soong.
