OBITUARY

Mr. W.. H. Austin

It will come as a shock to those

who met him when

he visited Hongkong last. January'on a Trade Mission, to learn of the sudden death on the 27th May of Mr.-W. H. Austin. Mr. Austin had not long been returned from his Far Easy- ern Mission

It was stated that Mr. Austin's Judgment in Departmental matters was always respected by the State Cabinet.

Funeral Of Michael

Pine

The funeral took place on Satur- day of Michael Pine; aged 8, son of Master Gunner Pine, RA, who succumbed following the tragic in- cident of Friday last when he was thrown into the nullah beside the Lower Peak Tram Station. Michael was swept through the mullah and he was picked up at the harbour end of the nullah, near the V.R.C. He later succumbed to his injuries. There was n large attendance at the funeral. The Rev. N. V. Hal- ward, officiated at the graveside. Some of Machael Pine's toy soldiers and other playthings were buried with the coffin.

The man who was found in the vicinity where five European children were thrown into the nullah near the Peak Tramway station on Friday, by an apparent- ly insane Chinese, has now been Identified.
