PARENTS AND BAD".
MOVIES
Where when
les the responsibility children see undesirable motion pictures? The responsibi- lity of the ordinary citizen is not to be denied, and that of the pro- ducers is too obvious to need fur- ther discussion--but what about that measure of it which belongs to all parents? Some parents are only too aware of their responsibl- lity in this respect, but feel quite unable to cope with the problem. The argument presents itself in this light All the neighbour boys and girls go to the pictures continually, so how can I possibly keep Tommy at home?" This may seem difficult, but where the pro- gramme is undesirable it is an in-
escapable daty. The neighbour boys and girls are not this mother's direct responsiblity. Tommy is.
And why should he not be taken
into her confidence and made to realize that she thinks too highly of her son or daughter-to feel that he or she could really enjoy a vulgar or unwholesome picture?

By dint of great personal effort and no little ex- penses. I have succeeded in obtaining the exclusive rights of "PUT NOT YOUR TRUST IN PRINCES," the " reminiscences of the arch-woman-spy, Anna Slipitova.
Madame Slipitova, whose aliases include such famous names as Raca, La Belle Assassine, and Mrs. Liphook, will begin next week her searing exposure" of the corrupt and immoral practices which honeycomb the public and private lives of the great.. Those in high places have good reason to shiver in their shoes, for Madame Slipitova is not squeamish about unpleasant facts.
so was I (alcoholic lake).
