SHOW

Dancing Ali Bahas And Pretty Girls

Hong Kong has had two days to form an opinion of the Greater Marcus Show and if one were to judge by the number of people who attended the Queen's Theatre during this time, then indeed we must say that it is unanimous that the show is all that has been said of it. The programme, although It included no less than twenty- eight items. proved to be all, too short, for so well was each one of the numbers put over that when the curtain began to fall the audience found themselves re- luctant to go away.

th a whow, of this nature it is difficult to pick-out any particular Item as an outstanding one bút special mention must be made of the Accordian Speciality by Les Sechrist who was deservedly given prolonged applause.

The Spirit of The Vintage was another favourite and here the lighting effects were marvellous— so well was it handled that the

lights, playing on the girls dancing

on the stage made them appear like bunches of delicious grapest sun another item deserving of mention was the Land of Jade- the danding All Baba's being ex- tremely good.

The, Greater Marcus Show is the best of its kind ever to visit Hong Kong and our recommendation is a visit to the Queen's Theatre if you are seeking really frst-class entertainment.

No Bed of Roses!

You have to be able to "take it if you're going to be a motion picture actor, whether you specialize in stunt pictures or in movies played within four walls

Anyone doubting this statement can check the matter with James Dunn, new completing his fourth. year on the screen. And Dunn, in no uncertain terms will explain that the life of a screen star is no bed of roses.

In Jimmy's arst picture, “Bad Girl" they tossed him into a foot ring with a professional middle- weight boxer whe certainly "dished it out" to Mons. Dunn during the four days spent in making these istic scenes.

In "Dance Team," he was tosa- ed out of several places, feet first, head first, but in most cases the same part of his anatomy W26 first to hit the sidewalk

In "Society Gu" he was again a boxer and Tom Moore, a tight- heavyweight cracked "three of the Durin ribs.

"Hello, Sister had him jumping out of burning buildings, and in "Hold Me Tight" he was, man- handled by "a half dozen large, rough gents....

Possibly the most undignified rough handling he has received, however, comes in "Jimmy, and Bally," his latest production, which is to open on Thursday at the King's Theatre. In this picture a half dozen gangster leaders fojn pands to make things unpleasant for Jimmy, and a single exit from a cafe sees him sent flying a dozen feet before making a four-, point landing at the curb.
