"Smoky" is the story of a horse whose vicious hatred of men brands him a killer. During the course of his e, he be-friends only one man, the man that has tämed and understood him. The friendship of the man and animal is so great, that when "Smoky" is stolen, his friend puts everything aside, in- cluding his love for his sweetheart, to go in search of his friend. In the years that follow, "Sinoky" attains the reputation of the famous "courgar", of the rodeos, and then sinks to the depths of a junk man's cart horse, abused and forgotten.

The aim is said to portray the West with all its panoramic beau- "ty, and to depict with astounding realism the colourful vigour of the rodoes. As a book, "Smoky" prov-" ed to be a favourite with thousands of readers, and from advance re- ports the film will prove to be equally popular.
