THEFT OF BLANKETS

Sentence of three months' imprisonment was passed on a mer named Liu Fung who was charged before Mr. Wynne-Jones at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday with theft of blankets and bed sheets from the Yaumati Govern- ment Slipway.

It was stated that defendant was employed at the Slipway as a store coolle and was found on May 31, with a blanket and a bed sheet. As the result of a search made on him, pawn tickets re- lating to six other blankets were found, the tickets being issued by six different pawnshops. The defendant pawned the blankets for various sums ranging from $2.50 to $5.

STOLE SOMEBODY'S GÓAŤ!

A dead goat was produced as an Exhibit before Mr. Hamilton at Central Magistracy, yesterday when two unemployed Chinese were charged with theft and fecefving respectively at Queen's Road West.

The goat when stolen, was alive. but when defendants were arrest- ed it was found to be dead.

Yuen Nam, admitted the charged of theft and was sentenced to two months hard labour, while - Li Ping was sentenced to one month's hard labour on the charge of re- ceiving.
