Instructions from ed accomplice confederate were accused of a simple but well-con- ceived fraud, in the third magis- trate's court before Mr. J. M. Bran- der on Saturday.

The accused were Sham Sundar Rai and Ram Dahar.' The former with attempted charged, cheating by personaling and the later with abetment of the offence.

Both pleaded guilty, Detective-Inspector Judge, in- vestigating officer, told the court that the complainant was a Char-

tered Bank watchman named Vin-

dyachal, while the first accused was a clerk to Mr. Shanmugam, a Incal solicitor, and the other man was a driver in the Singapore. Traction Co.

Ham Dahar, the inspector pro- D.Lceeded, harboured a grudge against the watchman and approached the solicitor's clerk to get a false civil judgment for $652 against the watchman, who, he had been in- formed, had obtained leave.
