It was then found out there was a third man connected with the robbery, He was not in the house, and when Sergeant Fitches went down to the street where а Chinese detective. who had been detalled there, pointed out the man (third" defendant) to him. The third defendant was on the opposite side of the street and when he saw Bergeant Fit ches, he walked away, in an east- ward direction Sergeant Fitches caught him up and when he was searched a pencil containing gas cartridges and spare ammunition were found on him,
