Silver prices dropped 1/16 yes- terday for both deliveries, the quotations being 20 9/18 for Ready and 20 for Forward. Silver ad- vices reported India as having sold China bought. The market was featureless. In America the rate was slightly higher at 48.40 for Spot. The market was steady, New York advices reported the opening rate at 5.081 and the clos- ing rate at 5:07).

The market was easy through- out the morning.

Sterling Business was done at 1/6 for near and 1/6 7/18 May. The mar- ket closed with sellers at 1/6 5/10 March and 1/6 11/32 April, buyers probably at 1/32 higher respective

U.S. Dollars Business, was done early in the morning at 38 13/16 for near de- livery. The market closed with probable sellers at 38 for near and 38 April, buyers at 1/16 high- er respectively.
