The following taken from the training, times published in the Dally Press will show the best hair mile registered by ponles In train- ing during the present season. and that is saying a lot for the pony, considering the fact that the subs of this season are inferior to those of last season.

The "Soldier" Stable,

The candidates of Mr. L' Shul Pong give promise of doing very well at the Annual Meeting. He has three nice griffins, and a very good sub. The griffins. Soldier of

Britain, Soldier of China and

Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Tang have a nice stable with a good Austra- llan in Racing Heart. His griffins are also good, Racing Luck, Racing Pluck and Racing Pride being en- tered for the Derby. Princess Angeline...

Many people seem to think that Mrs. Dunbar's Princess Angeline is a certainty for the Sydney Maldens. I agree up to a point. Princess Angeline has plenty of speed about her and in a six furlongs race may get away with it, but I should look elsewhere in a long race. The

Mr. A. M. L. Soares has a nice pony in Prima Donna, who has every prospect of doing well in the Derby. For old ponies, Mr. Soares will have to rely on Badko, who is extremely fit at the moment. The stable's subscription griffin is Blue Danube. There are no Australian ponies.
