Almost all the economic news during the week was of a stimula- ting character, for instance, the official statement about the Reichs finances that showed a surplus of over 800 million marks in hand for financing unemployment projects, while the output of the Ruhr coal and consumption of electrical power increased substantially. The fixed interest fecurities sagged the whole weak, proving that the public now are more enterprising and willing to forego the certainly of small fixed terms on capital with a pros- pect of larger returns from divi- deads in industrial shares, General Electric,

Ana Landa, Linted, har received the following report from their New: York correspondente. E A. Pierce Co. There were no sensations today; however, we think that the action of the whole hat is reassuring. It is being brought forward by groups and we believe that buying is showing signs of broadening.
Wheat: The market is easier under scattered selling due to reports of rain in Western Kansas.
Cotton: Favourable opinions regarding the Control Measure encour aged new speculative buying. General news was constructive.
Silver: The steadiness of the London and Shanghai markets and the advance in the Sterling exchange were stimulating influences. The prin- cipal factor behind the advance seemed to be persistent rumours that some favourable legislation regarding silver may come about in the near future. Business Done: 1,180,000 shares.
