"MEET THE
BARON"
And Jimmy Durante!
The holiday programme at the Queen's Theatre, Meet The Ba- ron proved very acceptable, the comedy being of high order.
Jack Pearl as the bogus "Baron" and Jimmy Durante as his capable manager and secretary are a pair of fun makers who are sure to pro- voke laughter all, no matter what their tastes may be in the way of
Jimmy Du screen entertainment- rante has a big following.in Hong Kong and in "Meet The Baron" he has enhanced his reputation.
The picture deals with hilarious. adventures of The Baron" and Jimmy Durante when they visit a girl's college. Some idea of the "college" may be gained by the fact that Ted Healy and his stoo- ges" are in charge of the grounds. Beautiful dancing girls, who stage the ashower bath ballet" are students, and Edna May Oliver is dean" of the college.
Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, popular comedians of the screen are also included in the programme in a film, called "The Chirap" which of course is a farcical comedy that will set you in roars of laughter. A circus proprietor goes broke and instead of paying off his artista with money gives them the property of the circus. Laurel and Hardy are given a chimpanzee. The rest you have to see to appreciate.
