Paris, February 11, 7.30 p.m. Nervousness prevails both in cmficial circles and amongst the general public also as to what might arise out of the twenty-four hours' general strike proclaimed for February 12.

General relief is felt that the amalgamation of the Chris- tian Trade Unions which, however, are not admittedly of the same importance as the general Socialist and Communist Union, has declared that its members will not participate in the strike, because the amalgamation in principle does not approve of such methods for obtaining satisfaction of labour demands.

On the other hand, the National-Socialists have announced that they will support these strikers by downing tools for twenty- Your hours. The Federation of Socialist Trade Unions published a confirmation on Saturday saying: "Fascist forces and support- ers of the old regime-organisers of the upheaval which occurred or. February 8-proclaimed with cynical shamelessness that they are ready to begin their practices all over again in order to replace, democracy by a dictatorship. That is why we rally" all working men to show in a quiet, dignified and passive manner through a general strike what it is they want, and thus check, mate the nefarious plans of their opponents." CONSIDERABLE SENSITIVENESS

The Deutsche Zeitung considers the only remarkable feature is the appointment of two experts for such

War and appointments as Air Ministers, this expresses the" Importance the new Government. attaches to these offices.

The Lokal Anzieger opines that in Foreign policy France will avert a change in the present course and this will inevitably lead to a new aggravation. The paper belleves that Franco-German relations on armaments and parity will be sub- thejected to a new and grave strain. although the British and Italian attitudes will bring about a new diplomatic versatility.

Paris, February11. Considerable sensitiveness to the adverse criticism of the French, people or account of the regret table event and disorders occur- ring in the last few weeks are shown by the representative Press in the French capital. The whole upheaval 1s regarded by French people as a domestic affair which foreigners can scarcely understand, therefore, it should be criflelsed with caution
