THE ALHAMBRA

Hong Kong's Latest Theatre

BRILLIANT INAUGURAL PERFOR-

MANCE LAST NIGHT

A scene, reminiscent of "first nights in the United " States or London and the European capitals, was enacted in Nathan Road last night when the new Alhambra Thea- tre, hailed as the most up-to-date and modern building of its kind in South China, opened its doors for the first time to the public. Admission was by invitation, but all the same, thousands of people went to the inaugural per. formance and saw the excellent film, "Gold Diggers of 1933 which certainly proved a most fitting one with 'which to open our new Theatre.

The Hong Kong Amusements may well congratulate themselves on this, their latest achievement, and we take this opportunity of adding our good wishes to those al rendy showered on the management, for a successful and prosperous future.
