Quite 4 number of dinner parties were held in the Penin- sula Hotel before the ball. "One of the largest was given by Mr. Tinson, she was very cheerful, despite her damaged arm which must have been painful."
In this party we noticed Mrs Tours looking very dainty in flowered chiffon, Mrs. Hegarty in black velvet, Mrs. Michian in black lace over schler tissue. Mrs. McGowan in white with green velvet trimming on the bodice and fade casings.
Mrs. Tufnell in red, Ms. Sheldon in beige and brown. Mrs. Dodwell also had a party: Ann Dodwell looked very sweet in hack velvet, she arrived with a small white fur cape and muff. Mrs. Mackie wore blue satin, Jean Mackie in white with long gloves. Mrs. Robin Gordon looked de lightful in white with & red feather coat...
At Mrs. Gray's table were. Mrs. Bill Stanton in white trimmed Garner with black fur, Mrs. looking so nice in shiny satin Mrs. Vick, who is on a short holiday from Singapore, looked charming in a green gown with diamante, and Mrs. Mather wóre black velvet.
