At The Central
Theatre
The management of the Central Theatre issued invitations to a privileged few to attend a preview of the Alm which is to commence Its run at the Theatre on Friday. The picture is well handled and although weird, it is most thrilling. The leads are portrayed by Leila Hymans, Charles Laughton, Rich- ard Arlen, Katharine Burke and many others. Charles Laughton as the half mad scientist does splendidly, but the honours of the picture go to Miss Burke-known as the "Panther. Woman.".. This young lady handles a difficult part wonderfully.
The story commences with a- ship wreek and Richard Arlen has been picked up by a freighter, bound for an unchartered Island where a certain Doctor lives and carries on research work. The ship's cargo consists of "wild beasts *of every description, these are consigned to the mad scientist who creates human beings from these animals It is most exciting when the Panther Woman first sets" eyes on Arlen, she has been transformed into a woman, but does she actually possess the emotions of a woman? We will not go into any further detail, but want you to see it and enjoy it. as: we did. It is somewhat in the nature of King Kong. If anything more thrilling.
