Army team was drawn from diferent Units and failed to got together throughout the game. The difference in the score when the Anal whistle sounded « was much to do with the difference in the middle lines of the respective teams. For the Army the half- back line showed a weakness and failed to get a grip on the Navy attack, while the Navy forwards had no searching after the ball, it being well placed by the middle line ably lead by McQuire.
