If Gossip We Must

IN THE ROSE ROOM

The Grand Gala night on Fri day was a magnificent succesa and I enjoyed every minute of it. Those Spanish dancers are fas- cinating and unlike, anything we have had before. I thought their clothes quite lovely-shining sa tins, flowing velvets, glittering sequins-what a costume for the next Bachelors' Ball! And their It dancing...gloriously vital.. made the quiet perfection "of Ur- sula and Andrew seem - almost tame by comparison. The Span- tards danced with their bodies, the others with their minda; but: the audience loved them both and called them back till their hands ached with clapping.

SATURDAY NIGHT

Thank goodness there was DO Race Meeting in the afternoon or { you'd be Bick to death of hearing about other people's clothes But I am afraid I`stîll ́have a few 'more for you, for I took the 'little notebook with me to the Hong-

kong Hotel in the evening, and I could have Alled every page, so great was the crowd. It was the last appearance of Ursula and Andrew, and spectators were ve deep all round the floor, while, they danced. It was a pity the spotlight, man played so consist- ently on their faces rather than their feet, for he nearly blinded those of us at the oposite corner. But we were wise to it. by the next dance and moved over to the steps of the dining room. They made 1an excellent view- point, as Mrs. Taggart had al- ready discovered.
