coal and cotton exports is due to: The larger volume of Britain's almost all her customers taking somewhat larger quantities, Canadia and Argentina, in particular, not- ably increased their purchases of
cotton.
The countries of Europe bought only £4,000 worth more of agricul tural machinery. Bouth Africa, India and New Zealand increased their purchases by £13,606. The Empire countries also took Jarger quantities of other types of ma chinery...
Germany, Belgium, France and Italy all took largely increased quantities of Britain's raw wool. Cur beat wool customer last month, however, was the United States. She took 29,833 centals of 100lb, compared with 3,129 in September 1939. This represents an increased value of £89,264.

89,07 Asia Landa, Limited, has received the following report from their New York correspondents, E. A. Pierce & Co. There was little or nothing in this market. We find some ordinarily competent observers who think the market is going through a slow progress of accumulation and, while we may have some more backing and filling, the next definite break will be on the up-side....
Wheat: Poor foreign demand caused some easiness but buying then broadened. Trade bought on the scale-down.
Silver: Trading features were the talk of remonetisation, Déw” speculative support attracted from this cause and the firmness of foreign
zarkets.
