Asia Lands, Limited, has received the following report from their New York correspondente, 5. A. Pierce & Co. We think the market continues to act as though it is gradually recovering confidence. While business news is neutral and not definitely encouraging, there does seem a some- what greater belief that we shall witness some improvement in the next few months, like the action of rails in the past few days.
Wheat: Opened down on easier cables and then rallied from two to one half cents on commission-house buying. There was profit-taking towards the closa. ...
Cotton: Hedge sales increased but offerings met with a ready"dem- and at the slightly lower levels. Baying was not so aggressive, due to the Crop. Report, which is expected to show an increase.
Silver: Bank and commission-house buying caused an advance at the opening. Prices were held, advancing shortly before the close on. renewed commission-house boying, undoubtedly due to further rumours of remonetisation. Business Done:
