Theatre fans were not disappoint ed in the first performance of "The Sign of the Cross" when it was shown to a packed house, yesterday afternoon. We have been looking forward to this. wonderful produc- tion of the silver screen, and to say it was enjoyed to the utmost is put ting it mildly. Adjectives fail to describe the splendour of this film Cecil De Mille has given us a filmo worthy of his direction.

Win 63 Awards This Season
The results of the judging at the Tring Show London added atill further to the restrkable record of succusses gained by "Ovaltine Jersey cows. No less than 63 awarda have been won by this famous herd at the leading agricultural shows during
the season.
At Tring animals entered from the "Ovaltine Dairy Farm gained be tween them twelve awards, including four first prizes, one special award and the Reserve to the Champion.
It is an interesting fact that "Ovaltine" cows have figured "pro- mincatly in the prize list of every Agricultural Show in which they have been entered this year."
Among the notable successes are two first prizes at the Bath and West, Great Hertfordshire and Royal Lanca shire Shows respectively, and first prizes at four other important shows. At the Royal Show, Derby, the "Ovaltine" entries were awarded the Conyngham Perpetual Challenge Cup for securing the highest aggregate of points in the Jersey classes
There is no doubt that a large mea sure of the consistent auccess achieved by "Ovaltine" Jersoy cows is due to the ideal conditions prevailing at the Ovaltine" Dairy Farm. This model "Ovaltine" farm, situated near the Factory at King's Langley, Herts, is considered to be the most up-to-date and scientifically conducted Dairy Farm in the world.
The Farm was established to set the highest standards of quality and purity for the many thousand gallons of milk, which with the finest malt extract and new-laid eggs are used each day in the preparation of "Ovalting" the popular tonic food beverage. "

"I LOVED YOU WEDNESDAY"
How Elissa Landi Was 'Democratised'
One of the most unusual of recent Hollywood phenomena is the case of Elissa Landi who has changed herself... chameleonlike, from type usually termed "aristocrat" to a vibrant and sparkling_personality both on and off screen. It's no secret: she did it de liberately.
It would appear that the brainy Miss Landi had been cast in such filnis. with titles as Wicked," "Passport to Hell," "The Yellow Ticket" and similar spine-chilling devices in which she was a ruthless heroine, cold, calculat- ing and sloof. Today, in the recent "The Warrior's Husband" and the proaching "I Loved You Wednesday she runs about like a frisky lamb, cavorts in abbreviated costumes, ballet slippers, tulle shirts; brandishes broad words, sips a wicked cocktail and. cusses to her heart's content..
For a while the actress had been thinking that Hollywood didn't like her. She argued with an excentive that there was nothing to do but now out of the picture, or pictures.
"Nonsense," the Fox executive told ber. "No one ever expected you to do the things you did. Just thaw out."
She did and, with a strenuously successful attempt, actually shelved her old personality. "In place of the intellectual, a woman descended from royalty, with several published novels to her credit, Elissa Landi became the sparkling Landi Hollywood now know. The result of this metamorphosis marked on "The Warrior's Husband", and even more pronounced in the coming "I Loved You Wednes- day in which she is starred with Warner Baxter, Victor Jory, Miriam Jordan and Laura Hope Crews. comes to the King's Theatre on Sun day.
