The funeral took place at the Protestant Cemetery, the Rev. N.V. Harward conducting the service. How lucky we were to have such glorious day on Saturday! Everybody looked their brightest and best. and the whole show went with a swing from start to finish.

The Club was packed for the morning parade, and the ladies' verandah WES a swirling mass of women and children, It is a pity that the view from those particular windows is the worst of all, for the babies do so love to see everything that is going on- but perhaps we should rather consider ourselves lucky to be allowed to take them at all. I be- Hieve men's clubs are not usually s0 generous, even on occasions such as this.

I thought the flag girls in their salior frocks looked quite charm- ing in the mass, and

was dis- appointed that none of them had the energy (or was it the courage?) to follow the model of the Victory, as had been frst intended; but even so, the procession was both interesting and inspiring. It was rather a shock to hear one specta- tor (English, too!) ask what the "little" flaga”... meant.
